The following information was released by the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office regarding the November 27th, 2023 arrest of Jeff Looney, a Lieutenant with the agency.
On the morning of November 27th, 2023, Lieutenant Jeff Looney was arrested for driving under the influence and booked into the Coweta County Jail.
Lieutenant Looney has been employed by the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office since March 1995 and has been a Patrol Lieutenant since February 2013.
Lieutenant Looney has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an Internal Affairs investigation regarding this incident.
Sheriff Wood holds all employees to the highest standard and any act outside the law will not be tolerated.
Looney was arrested in the early morning hours after being stopped by members of the Newnan Police Department and charge with the following.
